About Slab Leak Detection Pros

We do one thing: help Texas homeowners find leaks under their slab quickly, honestly and without breaking the floor to search.

Who we are

Slab leak detection, and nothing else

Most Texas homes sit on a concrete slab with water and drain lines buried inside, and much of the state sits on clay that never stops moving. When one of those pipes leaks, the hardest part isn’t the repair. It’s finding the leak without tearing up a kitchen floor to look for it.

That’s the only problem we work on. We don’t sell water heaters, remodels or repipes. We connect homeowners with licensed plumbers who specialize in finding hidden leaks with pressure testing, acoustic listening, thermal imaging and tracer gas, and who hand over an exact location and a written report.

How it works

Slab Leak Detection Pros is a referral service for slab leak detection only. Calls are connected to independent, licensed Texas plumbers who perform the detection work. Prices shown are typical ranges, not quotes.

In Texas, plumbing work must be done by plumbers licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Every plumber we connect you with is licensed and insured, and will tell you their license number on request.

Detection only

No upselling. Our job ends when the leak is found, marked and documented.

Prices up front

Typical detection costs $150–$600, and you get the price before anyone arrives.

Proof you can use

A written report with readings and photos for your insurer, your water utility or the plumber you choose.

Honest answers

If it isn’t a slab leak, you’ll be told, even if that means a shorter visit.

Our process

How we find a slab leak without tearing up your floor

The same nine steps on every job, so you know what’s happening and why. Read the full process →

  1. Listen and look first

The plumber hears what you've noticed and walks the home to look for clues.

  2. Rule out the easy causes

Toilets, faucets, irrigation, the water heater and the AC drain are checked so you don't pay to search for the wrong leak.

  3. Confirm the leak with the meter and a pressure test

A meter test and a pressure test prove water is escaping from the plumbing.

  4. Isolate the leaking line

Hot, cold and branch lines are separated so the search focuses on the one that's leaking.

  5. Test the drains, if needed

Drain leaks don't show on the meter, so they get their own hydrostatic test and camera check.

  6. Trace the pipe's route

An electronic locator maps where the leaking line actually runs under the floor.

  7. Pinpoint the exact spot

Acoustic listening, thermal imaging and tracer gas find where the water is escaping, and two methods must agree.

  8. Scan the slab and mark the leak

The slab is checked for steel tendons and rebar, and the leak is marked on the floor.

  9. Get your written report

You receive the leak's location, the line, the readings and photos in writing.
